Woman's Loud Sex Breaks Court Order

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - "If the van is rocking don't come knocking" took on a new meaning after a British woman was arrested for having loud sex that was described in court as "murder" and "unnatural."

In April, Caroline Cartwright, 48, was given an anti-social behavior order banning her from making excessive noise, including loud noises during sex. In court Tuesday she admitted breaking the order, the BBC reported . She will be sentenced on Jan. 18.

The Mirror reported that she conceded that she failed to comply with the order days after it was issued. Cartwright said that she cannot help making noise during sex and has asked a sexual psychologist to give evidence on her behalf, reported The Telegraph .

Neighbors, including a postman, complained that Caroline and Steve Cartwright's lovemaking was very loud and in one case kept a woman awake for most of the night.

"The noise sounds like they are both in considerable pain," said neighbor Rachel O'Connor to the BBC . "I cannot describe the noise. I have never ever heard anything like it."

The BBC reported that the city council recorded noise levels of up to 47 decibels coming from the Cartwright's residence. World Health Organization guidelines state that 30 decibels is enough to cause sleep disturbance.

On the topic of sex noise etiquette, Dr. Trina Read writes on Hitched.com that there is no tactful way to ask couples to keep it down. If you are disturbed by another couples' lovemaking Dr. Read suggests to "roll up a wad of toilet paper and stick it in your ears. Or, even better, start having loud sex to drown out their noise."
