WFXS, MyFoxWausau - News and Weather for Wausau, WIPGA Tour Pro Wilson Thinks Erin Hills is Right for US Open

ERIN, WI (WAOW) - Wisconsin golf continues to catch the eye of the nation.  In 2010, Whistling Straits played host to the PGA Championship.  Erin Hills will host this year's US Amateur and the US Open in 2017.

Menomonee Falls native Mark Wilson is having a fine season on the PGA Tour, ranking 3rd in the Fed Ex Cup standings and 8th on the money list.  He played Erin Hills on Monday as part of a benefit for Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.  He says the course has all the challenges that befit a US Open.
