Wisconsin Rapids - Michael Huckabay did not allow a base runner to the Battle Creek Bombers until the fourth, and held them scoreless into the seventh, and helped the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters cruise to an 11-4 win Wednesday night.

Huckabay, making his seventh start, faced the minimum through four, allowing just a single in the fourth. Huckabay did not walk a batter until he issued a free pass to the lead-off hitter in the seventh. The right-hander struck out the next batter he faced, but allowed an RBI double before exiting the game. Reliever Jack Larsen, in his Rafters debut, allowed the inherited runner to score before recording the final two outs. Huckabay picks up his third win, allowing two runs on four hits with four strike outs.

With runs in the first two innings, the offense stepped up to provide the support for Huckabay. Brandon Hohl doubled with two outs in the first to drive home one before Kyle Peterson blasted his eighth home run of the year in the second, putting the Rafters up 2-0. In the fourth the Rafters capitalized on a Bombers error, a balk and a wild pitch to plate two. Garrett Nash and Justin Jirschele each notched an RBI in the inning.

The Rafters blew the game wide open in the sixth. Jirschele walked with one out in the inning. Then, after a single and a force at second, runners stood on the corners with two outs for Josh Cyr. The Rafters first baseman and increased his team RBI lead, crushing a two run, stand-up triple to right field. Far from done on the night, Cyr stepped to the plate with one on and two outs in the ninth and promptly launched his seventh home run of the season deep to left to give the Rafters an 11-2 advantage. Cyr ended his big night 2-for-3 with four RBI.

After finishing the seventh, Larsen worked a scoreless eighth inning with a pair of strike-outs. Michael Russo, despite allowing a two run homer to set the final at 11-4, did nail down the final three outs in the ninth to move the Rafters record to 4-3 this half.
