525 Snowmobile Championships

WAUSAU (WAOW)--The 525 Championships are set for this weekend. This is the first year the snowmobile races have been held on a new track west of Rib Mountain.

   The 525 is in  honor of Philip "Flip" Merwin, who was killed in a crash during the 2003 World Championship Derby in Eagle River. Family and friends have organized a memorial race each year, which took place on a lake. Now, Flip's father has built a track and the races will be held there.

   Proceeds from the races and other events go to Flip's Fund a charity for sick children and for scholarships. To learn  more: www.525wausau.com
