Former Rhinelander police officer sentenced to prison time

RHINELANDER (WAOW) -- The former Rhinelander police officer convicted of sexual assault and intimidating a witness learned his fate today.

62-year old Greg DeRosier was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison. Plus, another two-and-a-half years of extended supervision.

In December, DeRosier was found guilty for beating a woman and then raping her. During the trial, the victim testified that DeRosier threatened her and told her she could not go to police.

DeRosier was also found guilty on misdemeanor charges of battery and bail jumping.
