(WAOW) - Tuesday, the Wausau West and Hudson wrestling teams met with a trip to state on the line for the fifth straight season.

The Warriors won the first match of the night, but lost the next four before pulling away for a 41-18 win.

Top-ranked Wisconsin Rapids is also headed back to state after a 47-17 win over Pulaski.

The boys' hockey playoffs got under way and fifth-seeded Mosinee beat Merrill 15-2 in the opening round. Wausau East and Pacelli also picked up wins in their playoff openers.

On the hardwood, Almond-Bancroft beat Marion in overtime to take control of the CWC 10 lead. Antigo held on to its GNC lead with a win over Rhinelander.
