WFXS, MyFoxWausau - News and Weather for Wausau, WINewsline 9 athlete of the week: Scheets headed back to state

(WAOW) - This season the Marshfield swim team sports the Wisconsin Valley Conference co-coach of the year and co-swimmer of the year.

That swimmer of the year is also this week's athlete of the week.

The Tigers' Aaron Scheets will make his second appearance at state this Saturday. He'll be competing in the 100 yard backstroke, just as he did last year. 

Aaron is seeded relatively low for Saturday's race, but that shouldn't matter.

The Tigers' senior was chosen as the Wisconsin Valley Conference co-swimmer of the year after finishing second at the conference meet in the 100 backstroke and the 200 individual medley.

His strong performances have helped his head coach win co-conference coach of the year. 

It's also easy when you have a senior like Aaron on the team.
