WAUSAU (WAOW)--A radio talk show host will make a run for the 85th Assembly. Pay Snyder is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat. Democrat Donna Seidel currently holds the office.

Snyder made his official announcement at the Dudley Tower in downtown Wausau, Tuesday afternoon. Snyder says, job creation and keeping the jobs that are in Wisconsin, here, are his main goals.

He says he has been asked several times to run for office, but declined because of the timing wasn't right. He says with all the political bickering going on right now, he has something to offer and can be a voice of reason in Madison.

Snyder currently works at WSAU. His political aspirations mean a change for his radio career. According the WSAU web site indicates  if Snyder does not have a primary opponent, he'll continue at WSAU through Labor Day weekend. If he does have an opponent, he will leave the station at the end of July.

Rep. Seidel,  a Democrat from Wausau, has announced her intentions to run against state Sen. Pam Galloway, a Republican from Wausau, if a recall election is held for Galloway's seat.

Former Marathon County Democratic Chairman Jeff Johnson previously announced his candidacy for the 85th Assembly District seat.
