After eight weeks of regular season football, the postseason is finally here as the best schools in the state faced off, all aiming for the state championship.
Edgar maintained its undefeated record after blowing out Laona-Wabeno, 56-0. All of Edgar's points were scored in the second half. Edgar goes on to face Coleman in Level 2.
Marathon easily defeated Crandon at home, 36-0 after scoring 22 points in the first half alone. The Red Raiders face either Niagara or Amherst. Those two teams face off tomorrow.
Stratford followed up on it's demolishing of Auburndale last week by doing it again in the rematch. The Tigers defeated Auburndale, 42-7, to move on to Level 2 of the Division 5 playoffs. Two of Stratford's touchdowns were scored off of punt returns.
Marshfield was already up 13-0 against Tomah in the second quarter when Tanner Dennis-Brown caught the team's third score of the night. Marshfield went on to defeat Tomah, 31-13, and will face Holmen, which defeated Wausau East in Level 1 on Friday night.
SPASH hosted Green Bay-Preble and had a 14-7 lead at halftime. And even though SPASH had a seven point lead in the second half, the game would go to four overtimes. SPASH defeated Preble, 43-35.
Stanley-Boyd was unable to rebound from its only loss of the regular season last week, losing to Colby, 20-14.
Athens did rebound from its only loss of the season last week, defeating Melrose-Mindoro, 48-0. The Bluejays will face Boyceville in the next round of the Division 6 playoffs.
Rosholt defeated Marion/Tigerton, 32-6, in the first round of Division 6, Group B. It's the second time Rosholt defeated its fellow Central Wisconsin-Ten opponent. Rosholt previously beat Marion/Tigerton in a shutout earlier in the season.
Bay Port narrowly defeated D.C. Everest, 19-17, despite the Evergreens scoring first. On the first offensive play of the game, Everest's Nick Sierakowski threw a 66-yard pass to Wyatt Brown for the first touchdown of the game.
West De Pere dominated Antigo, 48-0. Antigo barely qualified for the postseason after finishing with a conference record of 3-3.
