Paul Ryan rallies supporters in Wisconsin

ASHWAUBENON (WAOW) -

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan made three stops in our state Wednesday, including one in Ashwaubenon.

It's no secret Wisconsin is still very much a battleground state.

"This is that kind of moment," Ryan told the crowd gathered at a Green Bay-area company, FulfillNet Direct Mail Provider. "Remember between now and Friday you can go and do in person absentee voting. That way you can then spend the weekend helping other people to go."

This event came just days after Mitt Romney had to reschedule a stop in Wisconsin because of Superstorm Sandy. But the campaign trail is hot once again.

"On day one we're going to get to work. On day one we're going to put in place the plans to repeal Obamacare, to approve the keystone pipeline, to get us drilling for natural gas and oil, to turn our energy back on," said Ryan.

About 700 people attended the rally. Natalie Badilla of Appleton was one of them.

"It's history and I wanted to come because I've never been involved before," said Badilla. "This year, I'm active in this election because I don't like where Obama's gone and I don't like what he's done."

Ryan says it all comes down to the next few days.

"I will look forward to waking up on Wednesday morning, knowing that we got our country back on the right track, knowing that Wisconsin delivered its 10 electoral votes to putting America back on a sure footing by electing Mitt Romney the next president of the United States," said Ryan.

With just days left until the election, the race is becoming more and more about Wisconsin. Both sides are planning to make stops later this week as well.
