It was Level 4 of the WIAA High School football playoffs and some local teams saw their seasons come to a close.
At Goerke Field in Stevens Point, Amherst and Colby squared off for a trip to Camp Randall Stadium. The Falcons made their presence felt early and often as they put up 34 points in the first quarter and never looked back. Colby struggled with turnovers and other miscues that allowed Amherst to take advantage in a big way. Amherst took down Colby in blow out fashion 34-6.
In Chippewa Falls, perennial powerhouse Edgar matched up with Regis in this Level 4 contest. After not allowing a single point in the postseason throughout the first three weeks, Edgar was taken by surprise. Regis scored 21 points en route to ending Edgar's miraculous run this year. The Edgar offense couldn't manage to score and they would be shut out in their last game of the season.
