4 inches of snow reported in Vilas County

The flakes are flying in the Northwoods.

Friday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning through 4:00 p.m. for Vilas, Iron and Ashland Counties. Meanwhile, NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Price, Oneida, Forest and Florence Counties also through 4:00 p.m.

StormTrack 9 Meteorologist Justin Loew said that it will be windy and cold Friday. Loew also noted that there will be blowing snow so the roads will remain slippery in the Northwoods.

As of 10:45 a.m. NWS Green Bay reported that four inches of snow was reported in Winchester, Vilas County. Law enforcement relays two inches snow report in Eagle River in Vilas County and about one and a half inches of snow was reported in Rhinelander in Oneida County.

The National Weather Service in Duluth, MN projects 7-12 inches could fall in Florence and Iron Counties. NWS projects around 4-8 total inches in Vilas County.
