WAUSAU (WAOW) -
Wausau students got a taste of the business world today. It's a state-wide initiative, preparing them for life after high school.
Each group had to create their own company and interact with their "co-workers".
The one-day session is designed to have students face real-world challenges. Organizers say it's a valuable lesson to learn during high school.
"They need to know about these careers that are out there. A lot of baby boomers are retiring right now, and there's a skills gap. These kids just need to know about those options and opportunities so they can make an informed decision," Wisconsin Business World Program Director Steve Benzschawel said.
The session also teaches students about Wisconsin's economy. Organizers say that's important information to learn for the future.
