Top 5 Plays of the Week (1-13-13)

At number five, Wausau West girls hosting SPASH in conference play. In the second quarter, Caity Coleman makes the great pass over the top to Abby Brown, who scores after the nice hesitation move. However, SPASH would beat the warriors, 55-38.

At number four, we'll stay with the passing theme. Marathon girls playing Newman on Monday. We're all tied at 25 when Brianna Wirkus' timely pass just makes it over Chloe Chapman to get Tori Blume an open look on the baseline. She knocks it down. Marathon would wind up getting the conference win, 54-44.

Let's hit the ice for number three. SPASH and Wausau East doing battle on Thursday night. Panthers already up 2-1, but East trying to tie it up with around two minutes to go. Nathan Siclovan has other ideas in mind. A nice save that propels SPASH to the 2-1 victory.

A two for one deal at number two. Back to that Newman-Marathon girls' game and who says girls can't block shots. Certainly not Chloe Chapman. She records the block and the rebound. Then like all good post players, she sprints the length of the floor to add two points to her stat line as well. A complete top play right there.

And we knew it would be number one when it happened. Wausau West hosting SPASH in a battle of the state's ranked teams. We're scoreless in overtime and the Warriors are short-handed. But that doesn't phase Tanner Gould. He puts the moves on defenders including the keeper to single handedly win this game for Wausau West with the goal.
