Skyward waits for state appeal

Posted:
STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -

A Stevens Point company is waiting for the results of a state appeal after being passed over for a $15 million education contract.

On Friday, Stevens Point based Skyward submitted that appeal to the Department of Public Instruction. DPI officials say the Stevens Point company was the only one to appeal the state's decision.

The student information system contract was awarded to a Minnesota-based company called Infinite Campus. DPI officials say there is no exact timeline for a decision on the appeal, but they say the review will be as quick as possible.

Skyward officials say the process was skewed, to give Infinite Campus an edge, and now they say they're waiting for the state's decision.

"This was so close between us and the vendor that was awarded that contract and the fact that our cost proposal is so much less, that we do feel that we have a good shot at this," Skyward President Scott Glinski said.

Skyward leaders say they were told once the decision comes down, they have five days to appeal that decision as well. Newsline 9 has tried multiple times to reach officials at Infinite Campus. Those calls have not been returned.
