Wal-Mart in Marshfield has turned over items from its lost and found to the Police Department.
Marshfield Police officials said Wal-Mart employees initially tried to contact people to let them know their items were missing but weren't able to reach them.
Police received lost credit cards, checkbooks, military IDs and even a passport. They're working to contact the owners of the lost items.
Police officials said some people they've reached didn't even realize the items were missing.
"This is one of those examples where, oftentimes, we're not aware, and somebody happens to see it and turns it over to somebody. Again, it's good to live in a community where somebody doesn't take advantage of something like that," said Lt. Darren Larson of the Marshfield Police Department.
Police said there were more than 50 items turned over from the Marshfield Wal-Mart.
