Weston man charged with possessing unregistered firearm

A Weston man has been charged with possessing an unregistered firearm.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office for the Western District of Wisconsin, Jason Trempe, 30, of Weston, possessed a silencer that was not registered to him. According to the office, this happened in November 2012.
Trempe was charged after an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as the Everest Metro Police Department.
Trempe could face up to 10 years in federal prison if he's convicted, according to the news release.
