Lincoln County Sheriff's officials say they ended the search for an armed man in the Town of Harding Friday evening.
Authorities say they were called around 6 p.m. Friday, that a man was armed with a .22 caliber rifle in the woods behind a home.
Officials say he had fled the area after an argument with a female living in the home.
Lincoln County Sheriff's officials say they searched buildings and woods in the area with help from Merrill Police and DNR Game Wardens.
Officials say the man was taken into custody Saturday morning for an unrelated incident.
Officers were searching for an armed man near Merrill Friday evening.
It happened in the area of Tesch Road near County Road E in Harding.
A Lincoln County Sheriff's Lieutenant told Newsline 9 about 15 officers searched for this man. The lieutenant said they received a report around 5:45 p.m. Friday that the man had jumped out of a window at a house after some sort of disagreement. The man was reported to have a gun with him, officers said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's lieutenant said the man was wearing a camouflage jacket with blue jeans. Officials said there was no danger to the public.
The search was set to wrap up late Friday night, according to the lieutenant on scene.
