WAUSAU (WAOW) - Wausau police say an 18-year-old Mosinee woman faces four misdemeanors after someone spotted her standing partially naked outside a business, police were called, the woman fled and an officer found what are believed to be stolen beef steaks in her home.
Elizabeth Hoen was charged Monday in Marathon County Circuit Court with retail theft, resisting an officer and two counts of bail jumping.
Wausau Police Lt. Michael Juedes said Monday that Hoen was spotted naked from the waist down near the former Rose Garden Banquet Center on Friday afternoon.
When officers arrived, Hoen, who was by then fully clothed, and a man "seemed to be hugging," Juedes said. When police confronted the pair, they ran away and an officer followed Hoen to a nearby home, Juedes said.
Three steaks worth about $20 found in the home were traced to a nearby grocery store, Juedes said.
Security video at the store showed Hoen and a man in the meat department on Friday, and a cashier reported seeing the pair leave the store without buying anything, Juedes said.
