MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -
It's the final resting place for a famous bear in Marshfield.
On Wednesday, Randell Kruger presented Marshfield High School with a stuffed bear.
The bear gained notoriety after making the city it's home. Kruger captured the bear on camera in his backyard for two summers, but the bear was put down by police in May.
Kruger says it wasn't the ending he had hoped for, but donating the stuffed bear to the school seemed like the best outcome.
"That might be a great place for the bear to be," said Kruger. "He's sort of a Marshfield native, and enjoyed our city. So maybe a good place for him to be and also to help educate children, students on wildlife, which is a fantastic opportunity."
The school plans on putting the bear on display sometime this week.
