There are new developments in the case of a missing D.C. Everest
graduate. Prosecutors in Minnesota
are now asking for harsher punishments for the man accused of her death.
Officials say Kira Trevino has been missing since February, and is presumed
Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, is charged with two counts of
murder. The district attorney now says he's pushing for twice the prison time if
Trevino is convicted.
Prosecutors say Trevino has not been helpful in finding Kira's
"For many of us, that is upsetting and we wish that he
would, but the reality is, he's not. He's maintained his innocence, but
obviously we believe we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that he's guilty
of the crimes as charged," said Ramsey County District Attorney John Choi.
Jeffery Trevino's attorney has not returned our calls. Trevino
has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is expected in court again next
