Sorenson to take over East boys soccer

There's a new head soccer coach at Wausau East.

The school announced today that Jeff Sorenson will take over the boys' soccer program.

He'll take over for Brian Buege, who resigned after the Lumberjacks won the Wisconsin Valley Conference Championship.

Sorenson is the founder and current president of the Wausau United Soccer Club, which now has over 160 players.

East athletic director Greg Harvey said, "We are very proud to have Jeff on board as our new Head Boys Soccer Coach. During the interview process, Jeff displayed a clear passion for teaching and coaching soccer. Jeff will bring a solid commitment to the long-term development of our boys soccer program. Coach Sorenson is eager to get started, and we are certain that he will establish a program that the Wausau School District can be very proud of."
