Posted:

A central Wisconsin woman accused of threatening to kill a U.S. administrative law judge made the threat during a Social Security benefits hearing, a prosecutor said Thursday.

A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted Norma Prince, 51, of Wisconsin Rapids, of threatening to kill Administrative Law Judge Thomas Sanzi on Jan. 31, according to U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David Reinhard said the threat was made during a video teleconference, with Prince in Wausau and the judge in Madison, for a disability hearing involving Social Security benefits.

"We take these threats very seriously," he said.

There was no telephone listing for Prince in Wisconsin Rapids. Federal court records do not list an attorney for Prince.

Prince's initial court appearance is set for May 23 in Madison.
