ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) -
Organizers say about 450 people participated in an annual walk to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis.
The disease is commonly referred to as MS.
People hit the pavement in Rothschild to help teach others about the disease and raise money for research.
They told Newsline 9 there was a big increase in participation this year and the warm weather certainly helped encourage people to take part in the walk.
"Just about everybody in the state has probably got a connection to MS in one way or another. There are over 10,000 children, men and women in the state that are diagnosed with MS and when you factor in their caregivers, their significant others and their families and their friends and their coworkers, that's a lot of people," said committee member Don Huston.
Organizers hoped to raise about $68,000 for MS research through the event.
