Five finalists for renaming Kronenwetter park

KRONENWETTER (WAOW) - Trees are a common theme among the five names being recommended for renaming a Village of Kronenwetter park.

Community Development Director Randy Fifrick says about 75 entries were submitted to name the 10-acre park along Tower Road. The finalists are: Evergreen Park, submitted by Joseph Herman; Harmony Park, submitted by Matt Baker; Sebastian Park, submitted by Crista Bobinski; Tall Pines Park, submitted by Sara Duellman; and Towering Pines Park, submitted by Mary Kittel.

The winner will be decided by which name receives the most votes on the village's Facebook page,

Voting ends at noon May 10.

The winner will be announced May 16 during Kronenwetter Bike & Walk for the Health of It at the park. The winner receives a $100 gift card and $50 gift certificate.

According to Fifrick, for years the park has been known as "Soccer Field and Recreation Park."

"It is not very catchy," he said.
