PLAINFIELD (WAOW) - The Adams County Sheriff's Department says a 26-year-old worker was killed Thursday in a truck accident at a potato farm.
Lt. Seth Tully said Robert Losey, 26, of Adams, apparently fell from a truck he was working on and ended up underneath the trailer of a semi-truck as it backed up alongside him. Losey, who was struck by the trailer's so-called landing gear, was pronounced dead at the scene, Tully said.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near a potato building at a farm about five miles west of Plainfield, according to the sheriff's department.
Neil Denniston, 69, of Wisconsin Rapids, drove the semi-truck, Tully said.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the accident, Tully said.
