It was a beautiful day for the start of Wisconsin's fishing opener.
While there is still some ice up north, fishermen in the Schofield area enjoyed soaking up the sun and getting a chance to fish again after a long winter.
We caught up with one angler who offered some advice for people heading out on opening weekend.
"You to have have lots of patience. Bring something along to do so you don't get bored," said Wausau resident, Sierra Zemke.
The Department of Natural Resources is reminding fishermen to use caution if you're heading out, especially up north. Officials say there is still up to 20 inches of ice on some northern lakes.
