Two people have been arrested after a drug bust in Marathon County. According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, a 35-year-old man was arrested in the parking lot of a Rib Mountain store.
Officials say a 50-year-old woman was also arrested after selling heroin at the same location.
Sheriff's department leaders say a search warrant was used for the man's home on the 900 block of 6th Ave. in Wausau. They say thousands of dollars in drugs, including heroin and cocaine were seized from the home, as well as firearms.
The two are expected to appear in Marathon County court on Monday. The sheriff's department is recommending charges for delivery of heroin for the woman. Recommended charges for the man include delivery of heroin, possession, maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The bust was conducted by the Marathon County Sheriff's Department Special Investigations Unit and the Wausau Police Department.
