Several Wausau residents joined the mayor for a bike ride Monday morning.
The 2nd annual "Bike to work with Mayor Tipple" event started at 7:00 a.m. at St. Anne's School and ended at City Hall.
The goal of the quick, 1.5 mile trek was to encourage healthy living, and less dependence on cars.
"The more we can have people driving their bikes, the less cars on the road and the less gas we need to use. And so this is just to create some awareness," says Mayor Jim Tipple. "We had a lot of fun this morning. It was a little brisk, but we got through it."
The event coincides with the beginning of National Bike and Walk to Work Week.
