With warmer weather headed our way this week, allergy sufferers are expected to feel the onset of sneezing and sniffles.
Family Nurse Practitioner Nancy Javor of the Bridge Community Clinic in Wausau says it's a familiar story this time of year.
"We are seeing a lot of people coming in struggling due to allergies. The later arrival of spring has you dealing with pollen from the outside. Plus, the dust from being stuck inside with the windows shut during the winter," said Javor.
Newsline 9 meteorologist Justin Loew says pollen levels are high and that will likely remain that way throughout the week.
Javor suggests allergy sufferers close windows to reduce exposure to pollens. She adds that washing your hands often and keeping them away from your face also help.
If that doesn't work, she suggests you see your doctor for a recommendation on whether to use over-the-counter or prescription medications.
