STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -
Plover-Whiting Elementary students held a Boston Mini-Marathon.
They sold shirts for the race to raise money to help the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing, last month. The blasts killed 3 and hurt more than 250.
Students say they were inspired by 4th grade teacher Laura Gould. She ran the Boston Marathon and crossed the finish line prior to the bombings. At the time of the blasts she was about a block away and was unhurt.
When Gould returned to her classroom after the marathon, students were inspired to do something to help the victims of the bombings.
