WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -
A Wood County man has pleaded guilty to the charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
Gabriel Campos appeared in Wood County court Wednesday. The Marshfield Police Department says Campos killed 18-year-old Maisie McCullough of Marshfield in September.
According to a police report, Campos is the father of McCullough's two year old son.
Marshfield Police say McCullough was found dead in the bathtub of her residence she once shared with Campos. Police say she suffered stab wounds and her throat was cut.
Campos was arrested days after McCullough's death. While in jail, authorities say Campos offered another inmate thousands of dollars and other goods to kill the man McCullough had dated. He was charged with solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide. That charged has since been dismissed but prosecutors say it will be taken into consideration during sentencing.
Campos is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
He is currently being held at the Wood County jail.
