MERRILL (WAOW) – The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says a traffic stop led to the discovery of “multiple packages” of methamphetamine and the arrest of a 44-year-old Schofield man.
Joel R. Conti was charged Monday with two felony drug counts and a judge ordered him jailed on $10,000 cash bond.
According to the sheriff's department, Conti was stopped in Merrill on Friday after officers observed him driving a vehicle with a defective exhaust.
A drug-sniffing dog from the Tomahawk Police Department was used and the dog indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, authorities said.
A search of the vehicle found “multiple packages of methamphetamine,” the sheriff's department said.
