Hundreds of people had some summer fun Friday night in downtown Wasuau. This year's "Screen on the Green" featured the popular movie The Lorax.
Plenty of people came out to join in on the fun. The movie is about a boy searching for the one thing that will help him win over the girl of his dreams.
Friday night's event was combined with another one. The United Way hosted a kickoff party for a new website designed to help parents raise their children.
That event offered face painting and story time.
"For kids and families to come out together, coming out with friends and family, maybe it's meeting new people, but we were excited to have activities to kind have adults and kids to be interacting together, for kids and kids to be interacting together, to be enjoying summer," said Deanna Schuette of the United Way of Marathon County.
The "Screen on the Green" is an event held every year, and organizers say it's becoming more popular as the years go on.
