The Medical College of Wisconsin has set an open date.
College leaders say they plan to open a new campus in the Wausau area by summer of 2016. Their Green Bay campus is expected to open by summer 2015.
Medical college CEO John Raymond Sr. says the first graduating class from the Wausau campus will probably have 15 to 25 students.
The program will run for three years. College leaders say they hope this will recruit more rural area doctors.
