Health agency looking for dog that bit man


WAUSAU (WAOW) – The Marathon County Health Department says it is searching for a white dog that bit a man in Wausau on Wednesday.

The agency said it needed to verify the dog's vaccination status to prevent the victim from going through a series of rabies shots.

The man was bitten about noon on Summit Drive as the dog was being walked by a young female with blonde hair, the health department said in a statement Friday. The woman was also walking a larger, black dog.

Anyone with information about the white dog should contact the health department at 715-261-1908, law enforcement at 715-849-7785 or the humane society at 715-845-2810.
