STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -
The Stevens Point Municipal Airport is a busy place this week.
The airport offers a program called Gateway to Oshkosh.
Aviators can park their planes at the airport and take a shuttle service over to Oshkosh for the EAA AirVenture.
"We have 52 planes parked here. Some will fly to Oshkosh but most keep their planes parked here and take the shuttle. They like that it is a more catered service to the EAA," says airport manager, Jason Draheim.
In addition to those who use the shuttle, Draheim expects more than 60 planes a day to stop in Stevens Point for fuel or other services.
He says this gives the airport and surrounding community a boost.
"Many of those aviators stay at hotels and eat in our restaurants," adds Draheim.
