If you guessed more 70 degree weather is on the way, you are right. Most days this July have had highs in the 70s and that is the way the month will end up. It could get a little warmer over the weekend but we are not talking about any blistering heat by any means. For those hoping for rain, there are several chances over the next few days.
Today will be one of those days when you see dark clouds building in the sky and if you are hoping for rain because your corn has been curling up lately, the shower or storm will miss you. If you are working construction and hoping that the storm misses your site, it will probably be a downpour. It's a Murphy's law kind-of day. In any case, there will be scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing around midday and continuing off-and-on through early evening. Those that get hit by a heavier shower or a thunderstorm could end up with a quarter inch of rain or a bit more. High temps should be in the mid 70s. Later tonight things will die down and some patchy fog is likely.
From Wednesday through Friday the rain chances will be a little less than today but each afternoon there could be some spotty showers or isolated thunderstorms. Once again, the heaviest showers or storms could produce a couple tenths of an inch or so. Temps will gradually warm-up with highs topping out in the mid to upper 70s. The sky conditions will generally be partly cloudy each day.
Saturday is still looking like the driest day with the least chance of rain. A little more sun could push temps up close to 80. On Sunday the mercury could hit the low 80s as a cold front approaches from the north. This front will bring a little higher chance of rain and thunderstorms from Sunday evening into Monday. With more clouds around on Monday, high temps will drop back down into the upper 70s and it looks like some comfortable 70 degree weather once again for next Tuesday under partly cloudy skies.
