Dog that bit woman in Wausau being sought

WAUSAU (WAOW) – A young woman faces possible rabies shots unless the dog that bit her Monday night in Wausau is found to verify its vaccinations, the Marathon County Health Department said Tuesday.

The woman was bitten about 9:30 p.m. by a medium-sized, dark-colored dog – possibly a black lab – near the intersection of Forest Street and Grand Avenue, the health department said in a statement.

People who might know who owns the dog are asked to contact the health department at 715-261-1908, Marathon County law enforcement at 715-849-7785 or the Marathon County Humane Society at 715-845-2810.
