LAKE TOMAHAWK (WAOW) -
An inmate who failed to return to McNaughton Correctional Center after working at a golf course remained an escapee Wednesday, the superintendent of the prison camp said.
Superintendent Brad Kosbab said Todd Brecht, 54, was on work release for a job at St. Germain Golf Course on Tuesday when he he failed to return to the prison near Lake Tomahawk.
McNaughton, which has about 55 inmates, is designed to help inmates transition from major prisons to their home communities when they are nearing release on parole, Kosbab said. Brecht was in prison for a homicide conviction.
