“Whenever you combine high speeds and fast decisions where people are crossing a roadway where it's 65 miles an hour, there seems to be crashes occasionally,” said Portage County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Kevin Sorensen.
Officials say a 26-year-old Minneapolis woman was driving the eastbound vehicle and was taken to St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, with what's being considered non-life threatening injuries. They say at this time they only believe speed to be a factor in this crash.
No names are being released at this time.
