Lions Club stuffs a bus in Wausau

The Lions Club in Wausau is busy stuffing a bus. It's an effort to provide school supplies to students who need them.

This fundraiser will provide school supplies to a number of schools in our area. The Lions Club has parked the bus in front of the Plaza Hotel where its convention is being held.

The club is asking for pencils, notebooks and glue sticks. Organizers say even though the school year has already started, students still need supplies to last them through the year.

"Whatever we gather they'll be able to use it out of their pantry for the whole year and into the spring and it'll add to what they already have," said Robert Henning, the Lions Club district governor.

The supplies go to the School Tools for Kids program set up by the Wausau School Foundation.

You can still donate supplies through Saturday night. Just look for the bus at the Plaza Hotel in Wausau.
