Set up for the eighth annual Winter Wonderland began Saturday at the Wildwood Zoo in Marshfield and the displays are already coming to life.
The Rotary Club and dozens of volunteers set up strings of lights around the zoo. Different displays, candy canes and twinkling lights filled the grounds. Organizers say the event brings hundreds of people to Marshfield and helps boost the town's economy.
"It brings a lot of people to Marshfield and our local retailers certainly benefit by all the visitors that come through," said Scott Larson, the committee chair for Winter Wonderland.
Entrance to Winter Wonderland is free, but the Rotary Club is accepting donations and food items to help stock local food pantries.
The Rotary Club will continue to set up Winter Wonderland for the next two weekends. It will officially open the day after Thanksgiving and run until New Years Day.
