Poll: Walker's approval rating stand at 49 percent
MILWAUKEE (AP) -
Gov. Scott Walker's latest approval rating stands at 49 percent, which is about where it's been all year.
The Marquette University Law School poll was released Tuesday. It found that his approval rating grew slightly since July, when 48 percent approved of the job the Republican first-term governor was doing.
Walker's four-year term ends next year. He is expected to run for re-election next year and is considering a 2016 presidential run.
This is Marquette's first poll since former Trek Bicycle Corp. executive Mary Burke said she'll run against Walker as a Democrat. Democratic state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout also is weighing a run.
The poll interviewed 800 registered voters between Oct. 21 and Thursday. Its margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
