Auburndale and Newman Catholic will represent the Marawood South conference in Saturday's Division 3 and 4 state title games after the Apaches upset Racine St. Catherine's and the Cardinals swept Hilbert in Friday's semifinal games.
Newman Catholic entered Friday's Division 4 semifinal having swept every one of it's postseason opponents, and the Cardinals stayed with the trend taking care of Hilbert in three games. (25-17, 25-21, 25-19)
Cardinals freshman Mariah Whalen led the team with 17 kills while also chipping in 9 digs. Shaefer Rupar had a game-high 16 digs and tallied 14 kills. Abbey Fox led the charge in assists with a game-high 32.

Auburndale made it to the state tournament as a 5-seed, with four of it's five postseason games going to five sets. The Apaches faced Racine St. Catherine's, who knocked Auburndale out of the state tournament in 2010. The Apaches jumped out to a two set lead, but St. Catherine's rallied to take the third and fourth sets. In the final set, the Apaches got out to an early four point lead and never looked back, taking the set 15-10 and upsetting the St. Catherine's 3-2.
Camille Swart led the Apaches with 20 kills while Hannah Castellano had a game-high 26 digs.
Auburndale will face Regis in the Saturday's Division 3 state title game, starting at 11:30.
