It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Wausau.
City leaders put up the holiday tree at the 400 block downtown. The tree stands roughly 30 feet tall. Parks and recreation officials say it came from Blue Gill Bay in Rib Mountain. It's just one of four trees being put up around the city.
"With our shared equipment we're able to bring the tree in. Usually they go in pretty smoothly, this one was a bit of a struggle but we got it in and we'll get it staked in these windy conditions, decorated and hopefully good to go here before thanksgiving," said Urban Forestry Specialist Andy Sims.
The tree lighting ceremony will take place during Wausau's Holiday Parade in December. Mayor Jim Tipple will light it.
