The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is once again asking hunters to donate unwanted deer taken during hunting season.
The deer are then processed and the venison given to food pantries.
The state started the program back in 2000.
According to the Wisconsin DNR more than 83,000 deer have been donated providing 3.7 million pounds of ground venison for the needy.
