An effort is underway to save lives by selling cards for Valentine's Day.
Saint Michael's Hospital Foundation in Stevens Point is selling decorated cards with inspirational messages.
The cost is $10 per 4-pack of cards.
Organizers say the money raised will go to the Portage County's Cardiac Arrest Survival Team (CAST). That's a group of emergency medical services and community leaders looking to invest in lifesaving cardiac equipment and the training to use it.
"They want to buy more automatic external defibrillators or AEDS and then train people in how to use them. These are life-saving tools," said foundation intern Nicole Pare.
