WAUSAU (WAOW) -
Curling teams took the ice for the last time in Wausau as the Men's Bonspiel Tournament wrapped up Sunday.
About 40 teams played in the tournament this weekend. The semi final and final rounds were held at the Wausau Curling Center Sunday.
Organizers say curlers look forward to the tournament every year. They also encourage new people to try the sport out.
"Their enthusiastic to be part of the atmosphere, the curling the game, and the social aspect of curling,” said Terri Fisher, a Wausau Curling Club board member. “So you do have a few people that have never bonspieled before and it usually knocks their socks off."
The Curling Center has two more tournaments coming up. Next weekend is the Men's Senior Curling National Championships.
