MAINE (WAOW) -- Owners have confirmed the dog pulled from a house fire in the Town of Maine Thursday has died. Firefighters responded to a house fire on 60th Ave in the Town of the Maine, according to Assistant Fire Chief of Town of Maine Fire Dept. Joe Bozinski.
Bozinski said no people were in the home at the time, but several pets were trapped inside.
South Area Fire District Deputy Chief Steve Meilahn pulled Ted Bear, a 13-year-old dog, from the fire.
Firefighters say they immediately treated the dog with oxygen and rushed him to a nearby vet.
But, Ted Bear's owners say there was too much smoke damage to his lungs and they had to put him down over the weekend.
Officials say the cause of the fire is still unknown. They say the home may be a total loss.
